There is no single threshold that applies to every session. Select the correct report and read the lower end of grade 7 in the appropriate overall row, checking its scale and source status. A component row answers a different question.

Read a Physics SL grade-boundary report
Begin with the exact level, exam year and session, then check any report variant or zone label. A Physics HL report cannot substitute for an SL result. If the selected report is unavailable, the missing-data message means no report data is supplied for that selection; it does not mean the threshold is zero.
Use the overall row for the reported subject result and the separately labelled paper or investigation rows for components. A component boundary is not an overall subject boundary. Do not add raw marks or convert a range endpoint into a percentage unless the report provides the relevant scale and verified weighting information.
Inspect the source link and its verification notices. A displayed third-party reproduction is not automatically an authenticated IB publication. Historical reports can use a different syllabus or assessment structure; compare their labels and applicability before drawing conclusions about changes over time.

Physics SL grade-boundary FAQs
A practice set may differ in topic mix, demand and mark scale from a full assessment. Historical boundaries do not convert that set into a reliable prediction of a future subject grade.
Only after checking the assessment labels, mark scales and syllabus applicability. A difference in thresholds by itself does not show that one examination was easier or that the underlying standards changed.
Use the official candidate-results information available through your school and discuss questions with your IB coordinator. This public report browser does not replace your official result and does not advise you on requesting a re-mark.
