There is no single threshold that applies to every session. Select the correct report and read the lower end of grade 7 in the appropriate overall row, checking its scale and source status. A component row answers a different question.

Read a Physics HL grade-boundary report
Begin with the exact level, exam year and session, then check any report variant or zone label. A Physics SL report cannot substitute for an HL result. If the selected report is unavailable, the missing-data message means no report data is supplied for that selection; it does not mean the threshold is zero.
Before comparing an HL mark with a reported range, identify whether the row is the overall subject or one assessment component. An HL topic list does not determine the mark scale: use the assessment labels, reported upper bounds and verification notices on that specific report. Do not combine component marks into an overall percentage without the relevant mark scales and verified assessment weightings.
Inspect the source link and its verification notices. A displayed third-party reproduction is not automatically an authenticated IB publication. Historical reports can use a different syllabus or assessment structure; compare their labels and applicability before drawing conclusions about changes over time.

Physics HL grade-boundary FAQs
A practice set may differ in topic mix, demand and mark scale from a full assessment. Historical boundaries do not convert that set into a reliable prediction of a future subject grade.
Check which HL assessment model each report describes before comparing values. Earlier reports may contain components that are absent from the current course. A change in the reported boundary does not, by itself, measure a change in difficulty or standards.
Use the official candidate-results information available through your school and discuss questions with your IB coordinator. This public report browser does not replace your official result and does not advise you on requesting a re-mark.
